Mungr (https://getmungr.com) is a privacy-first data cleaning tool that runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly (DuckDB). Your data never leaves your device — no uploads, no servers, no cloud processing.

## About

Mungr is a browser-based data cleaning and preparation workbench for analysts, engineers, and compliance-sensitive teams. Open a tab, drop in a messy CSV, TSV, Excel (.xlsx), TXT, or Parquet file, and clean millions of rows with visual transform steps. The server handles only authentication, recipe storage, and billing. Zero user data is ever transmitted — you can verify this in the browser Network tab.

## Services

- **Visual data cleaning**: 19 transform steps (trim, change case, split column, regex replace, correct values, standardize dates, convert type, fill nulls, remove empty rows, filter rows, deduplicate, remove columns, rename column, sort, validate rules, custom formula, custom SQL, join tables, mask PII).
- **Smart Scan**: auto-detects PII, messy dates, whitespace, mixed casing, high nulls, outliers, and currency symbols, and proposes draft fix steps for review.
- **PII detection & masking**: mask, redact, or hash sensitive columns, with HIPAA Safe Harbor references.
- **Shareable recipes**: save transformation logic as JSON, share with teammates, replay on new files. No data travels with recipes.
- **Export as Code**: export any recipe as Python/Pandas, DuckDB SQL, or Shell script.
- **Dashboards**: KPI cards and charts computed locally from cleaned data.

## Limitations (We Do Not Offer)

- Mungr does **not** upload, store, or process your data on any server. There is no cloud pipeline, no background job, and no "sync to cloud" option.
- Mungr is **not** a full ETL/orchestration platform (unlike Alteryx or Talend). It does one job: clean files, fast, in the browser.
- There is no desktop or mobile app; Mungr runs in a modern web browser.
- Free plan is capped at 5 GB total lifetime usage and 100 MB max file size.
- Pro plan caps single files at 1 GB.
